A 25-year-old woman was killed inside her apartment in the region and police have arrested her ex-boyfriend on murder charges.
Saratoga Springs Police said someone called 911 at around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, reporting a deceased woman at the Vanderbilt Terrace apartments, located on Vanderbilt Avenue.
Medics arrived within five minutes and pronounced the woman, identified by police as Brianna Craig, dead at the scene. Craig was the unit’s sole occupant.
After speaking with neighbors, detectives identified Craig ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Sebastian Mabb, as a person of interest in the case. Officers found him nearly 90 minutes later and detained him without incident.
Following an interview with police, Mabb was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and was held at the Saratoga County jail without bail. He is due back in court on Friday, Feb. 9.
According to investigators, Craig and Mabb were previously in a relationship.
Police did not speculate on what may have led up to the killing or a possible cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 8.
Detectives are asking anyone with information in the case to contact the Saratoga Springs Police Department at 518-584-1800.
